Typeface designer and founder of Process Type Foundry, creator of Klavika and Colfax fonts.

Eric Olson is an American typeface designer who founded Process Type Foundry in 2002 with his wife Nicole Dotin. He studied graphic design at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1999, and worked at the Walker Art Center and University of Minnesota Design Institute before launching his foundry.

Inspired by the underground punk rock scene of the 1990s and the DIY spirit of design publications like Emigre, Olson began creating typefaces to fill what he saw as a gap in contemporary sans serif designs. His work focuses on typographic workhorses with high craft value that serve diverse purposes beyond bookish applications.

Olson created several widely-used typefaces including Klavika, Seravek, Colfax, and Maple. Based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Process Type Foundry sells desktop, web, and app fonts while offering custom typeface design services to clients worldwide.
