The Collingwood Football Club, nicknamed the Magpies or colloquially the Pies, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Melbourne, that was formed in 1892 in the suburb of Collingwood. The club played in the Victorian Football Association before joining seven other teams in 1896 to found the breakaway Victorian Football League, today known as the Australian Football League. Originally based at Victoria Park, Collingwood now plays its home games at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and has its training and administrative headquarters at Olympic Park Oval and the AIA Centre. Collingwood has played in a record 44 VFL/AFL Grand Finals, winning 15, drawing two and losing 27.
