Opera Software AG logos
Opera GX is a gaming-oriented counterpart of Opera web browser for Microsoft Windows and macOS, developed by Opera Software AS. Opera GX was announced on June 11, 2019, the same day as the start of E3 2019. As of October 2020 it is in open Early Access.
About Opera GX Browser
Opera GX runs on both Windows 10 and macOS. Currently, there’s no mobile version, unlike with the normal Opera browser. Considering how huge gaming is on mobile, that seems like a missed opportunity. After downloading the 3.5MB installer, launching the browser takes no time at all.
The first thing you’ll likely notice about Opera GX is the aesthetic, a look that says, “Yes, this is a browser for gamers.” From chairs to mice to PC cases, companies love to mark their products as gamer-friendly by slathering them in harsh, glowing neon colors. Opera GX’s interface pulses with colorful outlines on dark backgrounds, like a future imagined in the 1980s. You can swap between different color themes like Ultraviolet and Purple Haze for a different look.
Opera GX Features
HOT TABS KILLER. See exactly how much of your CPU and RAM is being used by each of your tabs.
FREE UP RESOURCES. Slash resource-hungry tabs one at a time to speed things up and reduce lag.
NETWORK LIMITER. The Network limiter allows you to set maximum limits (upload and download) on how much of your network’s bandwidth you would like to devote to your browser. Opera GX will stick to that limit, which means your game or streaming service outside of the browser will run more smoothly with the larger network bandwidth at its disposal. The network limiter will also come in handy when the internet connection is slow or if you want to play a game without lag and download files in your browser at the same time.
RAM LIMITER. GX Control’s RAM limiter lets you choose how much memory Opera GX uses. The default setting in the RAM Limiter aims to strike a balance between memory use and experience. The browser will try to stay at or below the selected memory allotment, but it will prioritize experience over the strict memory amount. For example, if it’s able to keep a stream going or a cloud-based file active, it will let the memory usage go slightly over the set limit. The Hard Limit setting forces the browser to stay under the chosen memory limit no matter what. The browser will not for any reason exceed the selected memory cap, even if browsing experience must be sacrificed.
CPU LIMITER. The CPU Limiter lets you put a cap on how much of your computer’s processing the browser uses, so the rest can be reserved for gaming. The goal of both GX Control features is to enable you to always be able to keep your browser open, even if you’re playing or streaming a resource-heavy game.
Substantial data savings and a new way of tracking how much data you’ve saved will help you extend your data plan. And, for those looking for even more data savings, Opera Mini also provides an extreme savings mode.

GX DESIGN. You can customize your browser with any color you want and choose from different special effects and themes.

Most logos are distributed vector-based. There are several vector-based file formats, such as EPS, PDF, and SVG. Simple images such as logos will generally have a smaller file size than their rasterized JPG, PNG, or GIF equivalent. You can read more about Raster vs Vector on the vector-conversions.com.
SVG or Scalable Vector Graphics is an XML-style markup-driven vector graphic rendering engine for the browser. Generally speaking, SVG offers a way to do full resolution graphical elements, no matter what size screen, what zoom level, or what resolution your user's device has.
There are several reasons why SVG is smart to store logo assets on your website or use it for print and paper collateral. Benefits including small file size, vector accuracy, W3C standards, and unlimited image scaling. Another benefit is compatibility — even if the facilities offered by SVG rendering engines may differ, the format is backward and forward compatible. SVG engines will render what they can and ignore the rest.
Having the Opera GX logo as an SVG document, you can drop it anywhere, scaling on the fly to whatever size it needs to be without incurring pixelation and loss of detail or taking up too much bandwidth.
Since the Opera GX presented as a vector file and SVG isn’t a bitmap image, it is easily modified using JavaScript, CSS, and graphic editors. That makes it simple to have a base SVG file and repurpose it in multiple locations on the site with a different treatment. SVG XML code can be created, verified, manipulated, and compressed using various tools from code editors like Microsoft VS Code or Sublime Text to graphic editors such as Figma, Affinity Designer, ADOBE Illustrator, and Sketch.
You can download the Opera GX logotype in vector-based SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) file format on this web page.
According to wikipedia.org: "A logo (an abbreviation of logotype, from Greek: λόγος, romanized: logos, lit. 'word' and Greek: τύπος, romanized: typos, lit. 'imprint') is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol used to aid and promote public identification and recognition. It may be of an abstract or figurative design or include the text of the name it represents as in a wordmark."
Logos fall into three classifications (which can be combined). Ideographs are abstract forms; pictographs are iconic, representational designs; Logotypes (or Wordmarks) depict the name or company's initials. Because logos are meant to represent companies brands or corporate identities and foster their immediate customer recognition, it is counterproductive to redesign logos frequently.
A logo is the central element of a complex identification system that must be functionally extended to an organization's communications. Therefore, the design of logos and their incorporation into a visual identity system is one of the most challenging and essential graphic design areas.
